Boundaries of Participation

In this essay I explore three questions central in the current discourse on audience participation theatre and performance. First, what do we mean when talk about participation, who is it really for? Second, are expectations that represents a democratization of arts realistic, or an aspect interactive participatory projects over-emphasized? And finally, how has critique against neoliberalist ideology come into discourse, relevant Norwegian context? will not go theoretical discussions definitions models interaction, if always already participatory. Instead, focus ideals regularly attributed to practices have surfaced during last decade.
